Jack White and his supermodel/composer/singer wife Karen Elson are the inspiration for this post. Jack White - rousing guitarist, actor, producer, and now a record label head at his innovative Third Man Records studio in Nashville. His collaborations with his own bands and other musicians include:
- The Rolling Stones
- The White Strips
- The Raconteurs
- Karen Elson
- The Dead Weather (watch your speakers!)
- Alicia Keys
- Loretta Lynn
- Wanda Jackson
These collaborations - plus Jack's own music with various bands, demonstrate his versatility and passion for music - and his support for women musicians. This generosity of spirit, collaboration, passion and creativity I greatly admire. I find it refreshing that Jack White is crossing musical genres at lightening speeds driven simply by a genuine passion for creating music. So fresh, so real, so powerful, so authentic.
Jack White is a pioneer in new music, and his wife Karen Elson is a wonderful singer/songwriter as well. Her music is has a mystical and country twang to it. Great stories in her song writing. Her new album "A Ghost who Walks" is intriguing. Give them both a listen. I look forward to more collaborations and creativity from these two!
